We need leaders! Are you ready? Do you have a vision and a passion for the NSA and the mission it serves?
The programs and services of the National Stuttering Association do not happen by accident. They are a direct result of the volunteer leadership of its members and those interested in stuttering. It is the tireless and passionate commitment of each individual that makes up the spirit of the NSA.
We need leaders, but we know that leaders generally rise from grassroots (step by step) involvement. Get your feet wet! Are you one of the next leaders of the largest support organization for people who stutter??
Here are just a few ideas:
Local leadership
- Coordinate a local Youth Day
- Start a chapter (adult, kids, teens)
- Be a chapter leader or co-leader
- Host a “stuttering awareness” event in your local area during ISAD (October) or NSAW (May)
Regional leadership
- Be a regional chapter coordinator
- Coordinate an adult regional workshop
National leadership
Working committees…yes, committees! (Now don’t go running…you can help committees on a short term basis or with a long term leadership commitment)
The working committees of the NSA include:
- Website/News committee
- Professional relations committee
- Fund development committee
- Family programs committee
- Adult programs committee
- Public relations/marketing committee
- Membership Committee
